Softball Academic All-District

Five Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Five Warhawks earned Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators this year including Josie Hammen (Combined Locks, Wis./Kimberly), Bella Eggert (Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North), Maggie Ward (Downers Grove, Ill./North), Dani Peshia (Newark, Ill./Newark Community) and Kaitlyn Weidemann (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township)

The 2026 Academic All-District teams selected by CSC recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Eligible student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be of at least sophomore status academically and athletically, and athletes must meet varying criteria according to position. Institutions are limited to nominating five individuals for softball. 

UW-Whitewater's contingent on the 2026 All-District listing features a pair of seniors, two juniors and a sophomore. Eggert, a senior center fielder, carried a 3.51 cumulative grade point average in Physical Education with a Health Education and Adapted Physical Education emphasis. Ward, a senior left fielder, graduated with a 3.95 grade points average and a degree in Marketing with an emphasis in Experiential and Sport Marketing and a certificate in Artificial Intelligence. 

Hammen, a junior pitcher athletically, was a senior academically this year. She carried a 3.98 grade point average in Human Resource Management and will be moving on to graduate school next year. Weidemann, a junior second baseman, holds a 3.91 grade point average in Psychology with a pair of minors in Coaching and Sport Recreation Management. 

Peshia, a sophomore utility player, is a general business major with a 3.95 cumulative grade point average.
