The UW-Whitewater softball program is represented by seven Warhawks on the 2026 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams.
Bella Eggert (Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North),
Josie Hammen (Combined Locks, Wis./Kimberly) and
Maggie Ward (Downers Grove, Ill./North) were selected to the All-WIAC team while
Emma Giese (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trail),
Dani Peshia (Newark, Ill./Newark Community) and
Rachel Radish (Merton, Wis./Arrowhead) earned honorable mention recognition.
Liv Ybarra (Chicago, Ill./Taft) is the Warhawks' representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Eggert garnered All-WIAC honors for the second consecutive season after pacing the Warhawk offense with a .426 batting average this season - ranked third in the league for those with at least 50 at bats. The senior centerfielder started all 40 games for UWW this season racking up 52 hits and scoring 29 times, both top ten marks in the WIAC.
Ward complimented Eggert in the outfield and in the batter's box. The speedy left fielder started 36 games for the Warhawks posting a batting average of .386. She registered 39 hits including five for extra bases while driving in 20 runs and scoring 22 times.
Hammen picked up her second consecutive all-league honor this season. The junior right-hander was 13-4 in the circle this season with an earned run average of 1.73. Hammen led the WIAC in complete games with 10 adding three saves. She ranked third in strikeouts with 101 in 113.0 innings of work this season. Facing over 400 batters this season, Hammen held opposing offenses to a .234 batting average.
Giese, now a two-time all-conference selection (2025), ranked among the top ten in the WIAC in RBI with 32 runs driven in this season. The senior infielder started 39 games and hit .307 with 31 hits including a team-leading four homeruns. Giese was tough at the plate, leading the league in hit-by-pitches with 11.
Peshia was selected to the honorable mention squad as a catcher/designated player this season. The sophomore hit .318 with 34 hits including 14 doubles - second most in the WIAC. She was second on the team in RBI with 29 and ranked among the top five in the WIAC in walks with 21. Peshia was the toughest batter to strikeout in the conference with the fewest K's (5) of any player with at least 75 at bats (107). Peshia started 39 games for UWW this season, seeing time behind the plate, at third base, at first base and as the designated player.
Radish was tabbed with honorable mention honors at first and third base in her first collegiate campaign. The freshman hit .355 - a top 20 mark in the league - with 38 hits in 107 at bats. Radish started 34 games for UWW this season and appeared in 37 scoring 23 runs and driving in 14 along the way. Defensively, Radish ranks among the top 12 in the WIAC with a .982 fielding percentage - recording just three errors in 167 chances.
