The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team finished 12th out of 17 teams at Illinois Wesleyan's Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill.
The Warhawks tallied a team score of 325, only nine strokes outside of a top-five finish.
Sunday's second and final round was canceled due to anticipated inclement weather.
Junior
CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) tied for 13th out of 92 players to lead UW-Whitewater. She carded a 77.
Senior
Kaitlin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) competed as an individual and tied for 22nd with a 79, which tied for a season best. Junior
Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) tied for 38th at 81, and freshman
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) tied for 45th with her 82.
Senior
Maddie McCue (Milton, Wis./Milton) recorded an 85 to tie for 59th, and senior
Sabrina Schreck (New Berlin, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) and junior
Kelly Storti (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield), who competed as an individual, tied for 64th with matching scores of 86.
Four Warhawks competed as individuals at Monmouth's Fighting Scots Invitational at Gibson Woods in Monmouth, Ill.
Freshman
Billie Jo Parker (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) tied for eighth out of 32 players with an 89. Junior
Bella Barbiere (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) tied for 18th with a 94, and freshman
Lauren Winter (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) tied for 27th with a 99. Freshman
Katie Mead (Racine, Wis./Case) posted a 112 to place 30th overall.
UW-Whitewater is scheduled to host the UW-Whitewater Spring Fling next Friday and Saturday, April 19-20, at the Beloit Club in Beloit, Wis. Competition begins Friday at 12 p.m.
