The No. 16 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team finished fourth out of 18 teams after finishing final round play Tuesday at the Golfweek Division III Invitational at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort ā Baytowne Golf Club in Miramar Beach, Fla.

The Warhawks carded a 302 on Tuesday ā their best round of the tournament and second-lowest of any team in the final round ā to finish the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a school-record 929 (314-313-302), finishing only two strokes out of second place. The Golfweek Invitational features several of the nation's top teams annually. Seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) won the tournament with a 908.

CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) broke the school record for 18-hole score set earlier this year by sophomore
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) on Tuesday with a 1-under par 71 to finish with a 228 (76-81-71), a school record for 54-hole performance. She tied for sixth out of 95 players in the tournament.

Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower), who previously held the 54-hole record, fired a 236 (77-81-78) to tie for 25th overall. Senior
Kristin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) was just behind at 237 (80-74-83), good for a tie for 30th.

Sinak and senior
Kelly Storti (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) tied for 37th overall. Sinak finished the tournament strong with a 76 to bring her total to 239 (81-82-76), Storti's 239 included an 85, a 77 and Tuesday's final-round 77.

The Golfweek Invite concludes UW-Whitewater's fall slate. Check back in the coming months for the Warhawks' spring slate, which will include the team's third straight trip to the NCAA Division III Championship.
