The No. 16 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team improved its score Monday in the second round of the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort – Baytowne Golf Club in Miramar Beach, Fla.
 
Competing against several of the nation's top teams, the Warhawks are in fourth place at the 18-team tournament heading into the final round with a two-day total of 627 (314-313), only one stroke behind third-place Berry (Ga.).
 
Senior Kristin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) had the round of the day for UW-Whitewater with a 74 to bring her two-day total to 154 (80-74), good for a tie for 13th out of 95 players. Senior CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) is tied for 23rd at 157 (76-81), and senior Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) is tied for 26th with a 158 (77-81).
 
Senior Kelly Storti (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) took eight strokes off her first-round score and is now 40th overall with a 162 (85-77), and sophomore Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) is tied for 41st with a 163 (81-82).
 
The final round of the 54-hole tournament begins Tuesday morning.
