The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's wrestling squad finished fourth out of 38 squads with 91.5 points at the Pete Willson-Wheaton Invitational.  The Warhawks finished ahead of all other Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference squads participating in the event.
 
The No. 14 Warhawks placed three players at the event, with two of them finishing with gold medals and another finishing with a bronze medal. 
 
Junior Mike Tortorice (Wauconda, Ill./Carmel) continued his dominance as the one seed at 125 pounds.  He won the semifinals in a 10-4 decision over the number four seed before claiming a 16-0 technical fall in the finals at the 5:31 mark over the number two seed to claim a gold medal for the invitational.  He was awarded the George Olson Outstanding Wrestler Award for his impressive performance over the two days of the invitational.  
 
Junior Hazen Rice (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) went 2-0 on the day on his way to a gold medal as the second seed at 141 pounds.  He defeated the third seed in a major decision before knocking off the number one seed in the finals to claim the second gold medal on the day for the Warhawks
 
Junior Riley Kauzlaric (Coal City, Ill./Coal City) finished the placings for the Warhawks on the event.  He scored a technical fall at 6:09 in the consolation quarterfinals, before knocking off the second seed in the semifinals.  He toppled the third seed in the third-place match to take the bronze as the fifth seed at 197 pounds.
 
The Warhawks will return home next Thursday at 7 p.m. to play UW-Parkside for the Sake Bottle Battle.
