The No. 25 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team currently stands fifth in a highly competitive field at the Wartburg Fall Invitational at Prairie Links in Waverly, Iowa.
 
The Warhawks carded a 316 in Saturday's first round, 16 shots behind first-place Carleton (Minn.).
 
Juniors CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) and Kelly Storti (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) each fired a 76 to lead UW-Whitewater.
 
Junior Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) is tied for 31st after posting an 81, and senior Sabrina Schreck (New Berlin, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) is close behind in a tie for 38th after recording a first-round 83. Freshman Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) rounded out Warhawk scoring with a 96, good for a tie for 80th.
 
Competing as an individual, junior Kristin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) collected an 85 and is tied for 47th.
 
Sunday's second round is slated to begin at 9 a.m.
