Schreck Tied for Lead After First Day at UW-Stevens Point

Five members of the No. 25 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team competed as individuals Saturday in the first round of the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational at Stevens Point Country Club in Stevens Point, Wis.
 
Senior Sabrina Schreck (New Berlin, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) ended the day in a tie for the lead out of 64 players after shooting a five-over par 78 along with UW-Eau Claire's Allison Chomniak.
 
Junior Kristin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) is also among the top 10 after the first round after carding an 82, good for eighth place through the first day. Senior Kaitlin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) is tied for 19th after tallying an opening-round 88.
 
Senior Breanna Bertschinger (Waterford, Wis./Union) posted a 98 to sit in a five-way tie for 45th overall, and freshman Billie Jo Parker (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) recorded a 100 and is 56th.
 
Competition concludes Sunday with the second round of the tournament.
