The No. 25 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team leads the 15-team UW-Whitewater Fall Classic after Saturday's first round at The Oaks Golf Course in Cottage Grove.
 
The Warhawks carded a 316 on the opening day, leading second-place UW-Oshkosh by nine shots heading into Sunday's final round.
 
Junior Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) leads the 90-player field after tying a career best with a 74 on Saturday. She leads UW-Oshkosh's Kayla Priebe by two shots.
 
Junior CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) fired a 78 Saturday and is tied for third. Seniors Maddie McCue (Milton, Wis./Milton) and Kaitlin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) each tallied 82 and are tied for eighth.
 
Senior Sabrina Schreck (New Berlin, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) rounds out UW-Whitewater scoring with a 90, good for a tie for 30th.
 
Freshman Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) enters Sunday's final round in a tie for fifth after posting a personal-record 80. She leads all Warhawks competing as individuals.
 
Junior Kristin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) is tied for 14th with an 85, and junior Kelly Storti (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) is tied for 17th with an 86. Freshman Billie Jo Parker (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) collected a 92 and is tied for 37th, and junior Bella Barbiere (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) totaled a 95 and is tied for 49th.
 
Senior Breanna Bertschinger (Waterford, Wis./Union) is tied for 71st after a first-round 102, and freshman Katie Mead (Racine, Wis./Case) is tied for 77th with her opening-round 106.
