The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team carded a second-round 330 to improve from its opening-round score and move up one spot to 16th at the NCAA Division III Championship at the El Campeon Golf Course at Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
 
With their two-day total of 680, the Warhawks are three strokes behind 15th-place Washington and Lee and 10 shots out shy of 14th-place Illinois Wesleyan.
 
Sophomore Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) collected an 82 to bring her two-day total to 162, good for a tie for 30th in the 130-player field. Sophomore CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) posted three birdies during her second straight round of 84 for a two-day total of 168, good for a tie for 57th.
 
Junior Maddie McCue (Milton, Wis./Milton) tallied the low round of the day with an 80 to move up to a tie for 78th place with a 174. Sophomore Kristin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) is tied for 88th after firing an 84 for a cumulative total of 176, and sophomore Kelly Storti (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) registered an 88 and is tied for 100th at 182.
 
UW-Whitewater will be among the fifth groups to go out Thursday morning and will tee off at 7:40 a.m. Central Time.
