The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team carded a 350 on the first day at the NCAA Division III Championship on the El Campeon Golf Course at Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
 
The Warhawks stand 17th out of 25 teams after the first round of the national tournament.
 
Sophomore Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) is one of 13 players tied for 24th after firing a first-round 80. Sophomore CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) is tied for 55th after posting an 84.
 
Sophomore Kristin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) recorded a 92 in her opening round and is tied for 97th, and junior Maddie McCue (Milton, Wis./Milton) and sophomore Kelly Storti (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) are tied for 105th with matching scores of 94.
 
UW-Whitewater tees off with the same group (Illinois Wesleyan, Alvernia) Wednesday morning starting at 6:50 a.m. Central Time.
