The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team posted a second-round 323, the fourth-best score of the day, to move up one spot and place sixth at Illinois Wesleyan University's Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill.
The Warhawks totaled a 652 (329-323) for the weekend to finish five strokes behind fifth-place Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.).
Sophomore
CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) recorded a team-best 77 Sunday to tie for third out of 89 finishers with a 155 (78-77).
Sophomore
Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) climbed up the leaderboard by cutting six strokes off her first-round score to tie for 24th with a 164 (85-79). Sophomore
Kristin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) tied for 28th with a 165 (83-82).
Junior
Maddie McCue (Milton, Wis./Milton) and sophomore
Kelly Storti (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) rounded out the UW-Whitewater lineup. McCue tied for 42nd with a 171 (83-88), and Storti carded a 172 (87-85) to tie for 46th.
Competing as an individual, junior
Kaitlin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) shaved eight strokes off her first-round score for a two-day total of 172 (90-82) to tie for 46th place.
The Warhawks host the UW-Whitewater Spring Fling Friday and Saturday, April 20-21, at the Beloit Club in Beloit, Wis. Competition begins Friday at 12 p.m. and continues Saturday at 9 a.m.
