Competing exclusively against scholarship schools, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team stands 12th after completion of the first round Saturday at Stetson University's Babs Steffens Invitational at DeBary Golf and Country Club in DeBary, Fla.
 
Sophomore Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) posted an 87 to lead the Warhawks, who carded a 378 as a team in the first round. She is currently tied for 56th overall.
 
Junior Maddie McCue (Milton, Wis./Milton) is 65th after firing a 94, and sophomore CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) is tied for 66th with a first-round 96.
 
Junior Kaitlin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) and sophomore Kelly Storti (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) each tallied a 101 and are tied for 69th overall.
 
Round 2 of the three-day tournament begins Sunday at 10 a.m.
