The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has agreed to a contract extension with BSN SPORTS for the next six years, Director of Athletics
Todd Garzarelli announced.
Nike will continue to outfit the Warhawks, who have claimed 19 national championships all time and have finished among the top 15 in NCAA Division III in the Learfield Directors' Cup in each of the last 10 years.
The contract became effective retroactive to December 1, 2017.
"We are thrilled to continue our partnership with BSN SPORTS and Nike," Garzarelli said. "With this new contract, our student-athletes will be outfitted in the finest athletic apparel, equipment and footwear. We believe this partnership further strengthens the Warhawk Athletics brand and enhances our relentless pursuit of excellence in all we do. We look forward to building on our mutually beneficial relationship with BSN SPORTS."
"We are excited to partner with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Nike to elevate the performance and impact of their Warhawks athletic program," said Terry Babilla, BSN SPORTS President. "This strategic partnership will benefit each student-athlete on the field or court by outfitting them with the finest apparel and athletic gear. We are pleased that we can elevate the student-athlete experience and are proud to be their partner."
Several UW-Whitewater teams are currently ranked among the nation's best. The gymnastics team is ranked second in the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association, while the wrestling team (No. 8) and men's indoor track and field team (No. 9) each rank among the top 10 in the nation. The men's and women's basketball teams are ranked 19th and 17th, respectively, by D3hoops.com, and the men's tennis team recently began its spring season and is No. 38 according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
During the fall campaign, the women's tennis and women's golf teams captured Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships, and the women's soccer team made its seventh consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
