Baseball

Spring, Jackson

Position: Jackson Spring – Infield – St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North
 

Jackson Spring led the Warhawks at the dish in the final WIAC regular series of the season. Spring hit .563 (9-for-16) from the plate with a double and an inside-the-park grand slam. Spring recorded 8 RBIs and 6 runs himself. On the base path, the shortstop went 6-for-7 on stolen base attempts. 
 

Steuber, Sam

Pitcher: Sam Steuber – RHP – Junior – Muskego, Wis./Muskego
 

Sam Steuber entered the Warhawk record books after a 14-strikeout game against UW-Stout. The 14 Ks rank fifth in a single game in program history. Through the first nine outs, Steuber had fanned 8 batters. The Warhawks pitcher went 7.0 innings while only allowing five hits and 0 earned runs. 
 

Softball

Position: Maggie Ward – Senior – Outfielder – Downers Grove, Ill./North
 

Maggie Ward paced the Warhawk offense to a 3-1 week on the diamond to close out the regular season. The senior hit .583 with hits in all four games. Ward closed the week with a fantastic performance at UW-Eau Claire. In the doubleheader, Ward went 5-7 with six runs scored, an RBI, a double and a walk. For the week, Ward registered an on base percentage of .667 going 7-18 at the plate with eight runs scored and three walks drawn. She was perfect in the outfield with five putouts and no errors. 
 

Pitcher: Josie Hammen – Pitcher – Junior – Combined Locks, Wis./Kimberly
 

Josie Hammen registered a pair of wins and a save in three appearances last week. The junior opened the week with a complete game win at UW-Platteville. She struck out six while allowing a single earned run in the contest. In a twinbill at UW-Eau Claire, Hammen was phenomenal in game one. The righty struck out nine allowing one earned run in the complete game victory. In game two, Hammen entered the circle in relief, no-hitting the Blugolds through the final two innings to pick up the save. For the week, Hammen posted an ERA of 0.88 with 17 strikeouts in 16 innings while allowing just two earned runs.
