The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team claimed its second straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship Sunday, winning the three-day, 54-hole conference tournament by 12 strokes.

With the fourth league title in program history, the Warhawks punched their ticket to the NCAA Division III Championship for the second consecutive year. The four-day, 72-hole national championship tournament is scheduled for May 14-17 at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.

UW-Whitewater collected a team score of 942 (315-312-315), tying its school record and WIAC Championship record set at last season's conference tournament.

Juniors Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) and CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) each placed among the top five in the 61-player. Hofmeister finished as runner-up with a 229 (75-75-79), good for a school record in a 54-hole format. Knudsen carded the best round of the day for the team to move up to fourth place with a 233 (80-78-75), tied for the second-best 54-hole score in the program record book.

Schreck fired an 81 Sunday for her 242 (80-81-81), while Storti posted an 80 for the same score of 242 (80-82-80).
