The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team qualified three singles players and three doubles teams for the Round of 16 Friday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Region Championships at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn.
 
Seniors Bridgid McGuire (Slinger/Slinger), Alexandra Talyansky (Mequon/Homestead) and Jillian Wallace (Crystal Lake, IL/Central) all reached the Round of 16 in both singles and doubles. McGuire is seeded ninth in singles and fourth in doubles with Wallace, who is a No. 9 seed in singles. Talyansky is the No. 3 seed in the singles draw and is ninth with junior Julie Martin (Morton, Ill./Morton) in doubles.
 
Freshmen Paige Nierman (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Stevenson) and Sabrina Palavra (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) knocked off ninth-seeded Bethel (Minn.) to reach the Round of 16.
 
Play continues Saturday in both the ITA Regional Championships and the Gustie Fall Invitational.
