The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team posted four top 10 scores Friday to lead the UW-Whitewater Fall Classic after the first day of the 36-hole tournament at Blackhawk Country Club in Madison.

Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) carded a first-round 77 to lead the 97-player field. She was followed closely by sophomore
CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton), who posted a 79 to put herself in a tie for second place.

Kelly Storti (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) recorded an 81 to finish the day in a tie for seventh, and junior
Maddie McCue (Milton, Wis./Milton) finished the round in ninth with an 82.
Junior
Kaitlin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) registered an 87 to tie for 22nd through 18 holes.

Hayley Jefferson (Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North) led the Warhawks' "B" team with an 85, good for a tie for 16th overall. Junior
Sabrina Schreck (New Berlin, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) finished the day tied for 25th after firing an 88.
