BRISTOL, WI- Sophomore
Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) and sophomore
CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) both carded a 78 on day two at the Shoot Out on the Border to help the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team finish off its second straight championship at the event.
Hofmeister finished first overall for the second straight season, recording a score of 159 at the competition. The Warhawks finished first out of 17 teams in the competition.
Sophomore
Maddie McCue (Milton, Wis./Milton) shot of 81 while
Kaitlin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) added a score of 82. Sophomore Kelly Storti improved by 7 strokes from day one to finish day two with a score of 80.
UW-W finished day two with an eight stroke lead over Hope College and finished the Shoot Out on the Border with an eleven stroke lead over Hope.
Juniors
Breanna Bertschinger (Waterford, Wis./Union) and
Sabrina Schreck (New Berlin, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) competed individually at the Shoot Out on the Border. Bertschinger finished day two with a score of 88 and Schreck with a score of 89.
The Warhawks will be competing on Sept. 9-10 at the Wartburg Fall Invitational in Waverly, Iowa.
