The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team placed sixth and tallied a school record for the second consecutive day Sunday on the second and final day of the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill.
The Warhawks' final 36-hole score of 633 (305-328) shattered the 33-year-old school record of 641 set in 1984. The team finished only seven strokes behind fifth-place UW-Oshkosh at the two-day tournament.

CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) continued the impressive start to her UW-Whitewater career by tying for ninth out of 100 players. She carded a team-best 77 on Sunday en route to a 151 for the tournament.

Maddie McCue (Milton, Wis./Milton) and sophomore
Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) tied for 25th overall with matching scores of 160. McCue posted a 75-85 on the weekend, and Hofmeister recorded a 78-82.

Kaitlin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) tied for 36th with a 163 (78-85), and sophomore
Kelly Storti (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) registered a 165 (81-84) to tie for 46th.
Junior
Breanna Bertschinger (Waterford, Wis./Union) fired a 191 (84-91) playing as an individual to tie for 72nd.
The Warhawks host the two-day UW-Whitewater Fall Classic this week at Blackhawk Country Club in Madison. Play begins Friday at 1 p.m. and continues Saturday at 9 a.m.
