Day One Results
BRISTOL, Wis. - Sophomore
Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) fired an 81 on day one of the Shootout on the Border at Bristol Oaks County Club to lead the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's golf team to a first day score of 332. The Warhawks sit atop the standings of the 17-team competition.
Junior
Maddie McCue (Milton, Wis./Milton)Â carded an 82 while
CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) turned in a 84 and
Kaitlin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) an 85. Sophomore Kelli Storti, the Warhawks fifth golfer, tallied an 87 on day one.
UW-W holds a three stroke lead over Hope College and a five shot advantage over host Carthage College and NAIA opponent Olivet Nazarene. North Central rounds out the top five, twelve shots behind the Warhawks.
Warhawks
Breanna Bertschinger (Waterford, Wis./Union) and
Sabrina Schreck (New Berlin, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) are also competing in the event as individuals. Bertschinger carded a 90 while Schreck recorded a 91.
Competition at the Shootout on the Border will conclude Saturday.
