University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis senior Megan Humphreys (Kenosha/Tremper) and junior Bridgid McGuire (Slinger/Slinger) wrapped up play Friday at the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Humphreys and McGuire concluded their fantastic season in the national doubles quarterfinals, where they were outlasted 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-2 by Sarah Ikioka and Elizabeth Johnson of Redlands (Calif.).

The duo erased a 5-3 deficit in the first set to win in a tiebreaker, but were edged in the second set before dropping the third to finish 17-5 playing together during the year.

Humphreys wraps up her career as one of the most decorated student-athletes in school history. A four-year singles and two-year doubles All-American, Humphreys finishes her four-year stint as the program's all time leader in combined singles and doubles victories (222). She is a three-time Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and helped lead the Warhawks to four WIAC championships and four NCAA Tournament appearances.

With the quarterfinals berth, McGuire became the program's first three-time doubles All-American.
