Senior Megan Humphreys (Kenosha/Tremper) and sophomore Gabi Kitchell (Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team clinched All-America honors by winning championships at the United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Championships at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn.
 
Humphreys, the draw's No. 1 seed, claimed her fourth consecutive singles championship after straight-set wins over fifth-seeded Karen Moe of Northwestern (Minn.) and No. 3 Bridget Bellissimo of UW-La Crosse. She is now a four-year singles All-American by virtue of winning the regional title.
 
Humphreys and Kitchell collected All-America accolades in doubles by winning the doubles draw. The top-seeded pair downed No. 3 Michaela Schulz and Ally Baker of Gustavus Adolphus in an eight-game pro set before posting a 7-6 (5), 6-2 triumph over No. 5 Haley Resnick and Lauren French of Coe (Iowa).
 
Humphreys and Kitchell will play in the ITA Oracle Cup from Oct. 13-16 in Surprise, Ariz. Humphreys finished as national runner-up in singles at the tournament in 2014 and was fifth in both 2013 and 2015.
 
Kitchell reached Sunday's regional semifinals in singles play, but was defeated by Bellissimo in straight sets.
 
The Warhawks resume Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Wednesday against UW-Stevens Point. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Wangerin Courts.
