The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater continued play Saturday at the three-day United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Championships at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn.

Senior Megan Humphreys (Kenosha/Tremper) and sophomore Gabi Kitchell (Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest) each won four matches Friday and Saturday to advance to the semifinals of the singles bracket for the second straight season. Humphreys, the draw's top seed, will face No. 5 Karen Moe of Northwestern (Minn.), and Kitchell, seeded second, will take on third-seeded Bridget Bellissimo of UW-La Crosse.

Humphreys and Kitchell also reached the semifinals in the doubles bracket. The top-seeded duo is 3-0 so far and will take on Michaela Schulz and Ally Baker of Gustavus Adolphus, the region's No. 3 seeded team.

Junior Jillian Wallace (Crystal Lake, IL/Central) reached the quarterfinals in singles, falling against Bellissimo. Wallace and junior Alicia Beck (Bismarck, ND/St. Mary's Central), the defending champion doubles team, were ousted in the quarterfinals of the doubles draw.

Junior Kassie Alexander (Waukesha/South) tallied a 4-0 record en route to the No. 5 singles title in the Gustie Fall Invitational. She also teamed with junior Gabriella Gregorio (Roselle, IL/Bartlett) to be declared one of four winning teams in doubles at the Gustie Fall Invite.
