Box Score Whitewater, Wis. – The No. 3 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering 4-1 Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference contest played at Prucha Field at James B. Miller Stadium.
After three scoreless innings, the Raiders (15-14 overall) tallied a run in the top of fourth inning to take an early lead.
The Warhawks (18-4 overall, 6-2 WIAC) pitched by committee in the win over MSOE. UW-Whitewater used nine pitchers on the afternoon to pick up the victory, while only allowing four hits. Senior right-hander
Curtis Morgan (Green Lake/Green Lake) got the start and pitched a clean first frame giving up one walk, to go along with one strike out.

Riley Gruetzmacher (Oconto Falls, Wis./Oconto Falls) gave up one hit in his appearance in the fifth inning.

James Georgakas (Ellsworth, Wis./Ellsworth) picked up his first win of the season thanks to the offense taking the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Sophomore
Heath Renz (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) came into pitch the seventh inning, allowing one hit, one walk, but struck out one batter. Senior
Connor Hurst (Waunakee/Waunakee) pitched a three up three down eighth inning to set up
Austin Jones (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) second save of the season and to seal the victory.
Freshman
Matt Wary (Elk Grove, Ill./Elk Grove) finished the afternoon off 2-for-3 from the plate and scored the first run of the game for the Warhawks. Sophomore first baseman
Blake Fleischman (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) went 2-for-4, with a scored run and run batted in. Senior
Trent Diekvoss (Beaver Dam/Beaver Dam) finished with two key runs batted in, while also scoring a run.
