EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - Five Warhawk men won individual events to lead the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater to a 139-123 win over UW-Eau Claire Saturday.
Joe Devroy (Kenosha/Kenosha Bradford) led the Warhawks individually with two first place finishes. He recorded the top times in the 100-yard backstroke (54.54) and 200-yard backstroke (1:58.72) and added a second place finish in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:03.15.
Dan Bielski (Chanhassen, Minn./Minnetonka) registered a first and two second place finishes Saturday. He was right behind Devroy in the 100-back (55.32) and 200-back (2:01.09). Bielski posted the top time in the 100-yard butterfly stopping the clock in 54.86.
Steve Missak added nine points to the team's total finishing first in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:49.91.
Spencer Twining (Janesville/Janesville Parker) bested the competition in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.21 and added second place points with a time of 2:17.26 in the 200-breaststroke.
Alex Gidlow (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) wrapped up the top finishers for the Warhawks with a time of 49.34 to win the 100-yard freestyle. Gidlow was also second in the 50-yard freestyle coming into the wall in 22.64.

Andrew Staszak (Franklin/Greendale) (2nd-1000 free, 10:33.92),
Sam Bowman (Onalaska/Onalaska) (2nd-500 free, 4:59.02; 3rd-200 free, 1:51.34),
Josh Kanute (Geneva, Ill./Marmion Academy) (2nd-200 fly, 2:01.24; 2nd-100 fly, 54.94), Anthony Heilberger (3rd-200 fly, 2:02.64), and
Ryan Stuart (Frankfort, Ill./Lincolnway East) (3rd-100 free, 50.05).
The Warhawk foursome of Bielski, Twining, Kanute and Stuart combined for a top time of 1:40.12 in the 200-yard medley relay. UW-Whitewater's 400-yard freestyle relay finished second and featured Kanute,
Aidan Biedrzycki (Milwaukee/Milwaukee King), Missak and Stuart with a time of 3:19.85.
UW-Whitewater will host UW-La Crosse Saturday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m. in the final dual meet of the season before competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships.
