Box Score 2 GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Warhawk softball team split a doubleheader against St. Norbert at Riverview Park in Green Bay Monday afternoon. SNC won the first game 3-2 and UW-W took the nightcap 10-2 in six innings.
The Green Knights used a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to top Whitewater in the opener. UW-W got on the board in the top of the second after
Amy Ricci (Gurnee, IL/Warren Township) led off the inning with a double.
Jo Jablonski (Palatine, IL/Palatine) followed with a single and a sacrifice put both runners into scoring position.
Kelynn Sporer (Chilton/Chilton) brought in the first run with a single.
Ricci got the top of the fourth going with a lead off single. Sporer and
Chelsey Schobert (Belmont/Belmont) hit back-to-back singles to load the bases and
Samie Seamon (Antioch, IL/Antioch) drew a two out walk to give the Warhawks a 2-0 lead.
SNC posted all the offense it would need in the bottom of the sixth with the three run homer and the defense held on to top of the Warhawks.
Sporer was credited with the loss to fall to 9-4 this season. Ricci, Jablonski, Sporer and Seamon each posted two hits in the game.
The second game wrote a much different story. UW-Whitewater got the offense going right away with three runs in the top of the first and added three more in the top of the second.
The Green Knights added one in the bottom of the second but the Warhawks struck back with one in the top of the fifth.
SNC made the score 7-2 in the bottom of the inning but a three run top of the sixth put the game out of reach. UW-W held the SNC offense at bay to register the 10-2 win in six innings.
The Warhawks posted 11 hits bolstered by
Morgan Krisch (Plainfield, IL/Central)'s 4-for-4 performance with four RBI.
Bekka Houda (Lisle, IL/Lisle) notched the win to improve to 11-4 this season.
UW-W will host UW-Oshkosh for a twinbill Wednesday beginning at 3 pm at van Steenderen Field.
