Whitewater broke open game one with a six run third inning.  Kelly McGrail (Tinley Park, IL/V.J. Andrew) led off with a single, moved to second on a ground ball and scored when Morgan Krisch (Plainfield, IL/Central) reached on a Pointer error.  Emily Epifanio (Park Ridge, IL/Maine South) followed with a walk, and Paige Evangelista (Wheaton, IL/North) doubled down the left field line to score Krisch.  Samie Seamon (Antioch, IL/Antioch)'s team leading sixth home run made it 5-0.  Joanne Jablonski (Palatine, IL/Palatine) singled to center and moved to second on the second UW-SP error of the inning, and it came full circle with McGrail singling for the second time in the inning to drive in run number six.

UW-W added a run in the sixth.  McGrail started things again, with a leadoff walk.  She moved up to second on a wild pitch, over to third on an infield single by Mimi Ramirez (Chicago, IL/Trinity), and scored on Chelsey Schobert (Belmont/Belmont)'s sacrifice fly.

Boyle and the Warhawks wriggled out of trouble almost every inning.  Stevens Point loaded the bases in the first and seventh innings, had runners on first and second in the third, fifth and sixth, and had someone at first and third in the fourth.

Ramirez, Evangelista and McGrail collected two hits each for UW-W.  Sophomore left fielder Jordon Schreiner went 4x4 for UW-SP, with Sam Raddant and Madalyn Sawdey adding two hits each.

Boyle surrendered 12 hits, striking out four and walking one in raising her record to 12-1.  Michelle Jones, 6-7, went the first 2.2 innings for UW-SP and took the loss.  Kali Riddell went 4.1 innings, giving up one earned on three hits, with two strikeouts and one walk.

GAME TWO
The lone run of the game came in the top of the second inning. Epifanio led off the inning with a walk and was pinch run for by Courtney Smith (St. Charles, IL/North). Evangelista's sacrifice bunt advanced Smith to second. Seamon walked followed by a fielder's choice that put runners on the corners. Laura Eichenold (Elmwood Park, IL/Trinity) notched a two-out single to left center to score the winning run.

The game was a battle of defenses as both teams combined for just five hits in the contest, UW-W with three and Stevens Point had two.

Sophomore righty Bekka Houda (Lisle, IL/Lisle) picked up win number twelve on the mound this season with the complete game two-hitter. Point's Jones went the distance for UW-SP but falls to 6-8 with the loss.

The Warhawk defense was pivotal in both wins stranding 22 Point runners on base and getting out of bases loaded jams.

UW-Whitewater will host UW-Platteville Friday at 3:00 and follow with a doubleheader Saturday against UW-Eau Claire beginning at 2:00.
