The UW-Whitewater men's swimming team opened the 2013-14 season with a 150-112 win over Carthage College Saturday in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Warhawks won nine of 16 events, took the top three spots in two events, and the top four spots in one event.

Ben Wynn (Glendale/Nicolet) (2:05.00) took the top three spots in the 200 yard butterfly. Teammates
Alex Gidlow (Aurora, IL/Metea Valley) (49.02),
Josh Kanute (Geneva, IL/Marmion Academy) (49.65) and
Ryan Stuart (Frankfort, IL/Lincolnway East) (50.07) repeated the feat in the 100 yard freestyle.
Two events later the Warhawks dominated the 200 yard backstroke when
Joe Devroy (Kenosha/Bradford) (1:57.59),
John Devroy (Kenosha/Bradford) (2:00.20),
Dan Bielski (Chanhassen, MN/Minnetonka ) (2:00.96), and
Jake Shackelford (Wauwatosa/Wauwatosa East) (2:04.91) swept the top four spots.
UW-W also took home the gold in the 200 yard freestyle, 100 yard backstroke, 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard butterfly, 200 yard individual medley, and 400 yard freestyle relay.
The men had a swimmer finish in the top two spots in every event.
UW-W will look to make a splash again on November 2nd in their first home meet against Luther College at 1:00 pm in the Williams Center pool on the campus of UW-Whitewater.
