Game One
Whitewater opened the scoring in the bottom of the third. A walk, an error and a sacrafice were followed by Amanda Mertes (Des Plaines, IL/Elk Grove)' RBI single. Two batters later, Paige Evangelista (Wheaton, IL/North) hit her first home run of the season to center field, scoring three. Stevens Point came back in the top of the fourth with Kelly Arndt's single bringing in two runs to halve Whitewater's lead.

In the sixth, UW-W's Shauna Binsfeld (Cedarburg/Grafton) homered to left center to score two and increase Whitewater's lead to 6-2. UW-SP's Maddie Sawdey opened the seventh with a home run to left, her third of the year. The Pointers then loaded the bases, but were unable to add any runs.

UW-W's Katie Boyle (Greendale/Thomas More) went the first 6.1 innings allowing 11 hits, no walks and six strikeouts to remain unbeaten at 6-0. Becca Houda went the final two-thirds to pick up her second save of the season. Michelle Jones, 7-5, went the distance for the Pointers. Mertes and Evangelista had two hits apiece, accouting for half of Whitewater's eight hits. Katie Krueger went 3x4 for UW-SP.

Game Two
It didn't start out like a nail-biter, with UW-W scoring six runs -- on two hits, in the first inning.  The two hits were big ones, with Emily Epifanio (Park Ridge, IL/Maine South) clubbing a grand slam and Samie Seamon (Antioch, IL/Antioch) followed with a two run shot for the 6-0 lead.

UW-SP went deep in the second, with Katie Shulfer connecting with a runner on to make it 6-2.

Whitewater used three singles, including Kelly McGrail (Tinley Park, IL/V.J. Andrew)'s run producer, to up the lead to 7-2 after three innings.

The Pointers weren't done showing their long ball prowess, with Paige Meulemans and Kelly Arndt beginning the fourth with back-to-back jacks for narrow the gap to 7-4.

Two Warhawk errors contributed to a Pointer run in the sixth, further narrowing UW-SP's deficit to 7-5.

Defensive miscues by UW-W proved costly again in the seventh, with two errors leading to two runs for the Pointers and a tie score, 7-7, as the sun set.

Evangelista opened the bottom of the seventh with a single, and Epifanio clutched with her second home run of the game, and the season, for a walk off win.

Jordan Schreiner and Shulfer had three hits apiece for UW-SP, while Epifanio's six RBI game ties for third in the school record book.    Amy Christopher (Lafayette, CO/Holy Family), 4-0, went the final three innings to pick up the win.

UWW will travel to Bloomington, IL for a double header at Illinois Weslayan University. The Warhawks next home game will be Wednesday, April 11 at 3:00 p.m. with UW-Oshkosh visting van Steenderen Field.
