It could've been one and done in the first game, with Whitewater scoring all it needed, five runs, in the first inning.  Catcher Emily Epifanio (Park Ridge, IL/Maine South) doubled in the first run, and leftfielder Samie Seamon (Antioch, IL/Antioch) pushed across two with a two-out double.  Shortstop Laura Eichenold (Elmwood Park, IL/Trinity) singled in run number four, and a pair of Pioneer throwing errors resulted in run number five.

Carroll had runners on first and second with one out in the second, but the next two batters popped up to the infield to end the threat.

Morgan Krisch (Plainfield, IL/Central), at first base for UW-W, hit her second home run of the season in the second, with another Carroll throwing miscue figuring in Whitewater's eighth run of the game.

A Krisch single in the third drove in two more, and pinch-hitter Caitlin Snyder (Burlington/Catholic Central) doubled in the last two with two outs.

Carroll put runners on first and second again in the fourth, but the second out was cut down at third and the inning ended with a strikeout, and CU got a runner to second with two outs in the fifth but failed to score.

Katie Boyle (Greendale/Thomas More) pitched all five innings for UW-W, raising her record to 5-0.  She allowed six hits without a walk, and struck out three.  Seamon led Warhawk hitters with a 3x3 game, scoring twice and driving in two.  In addition to her four RBI's, Krisch also scored twice.

Carroll struck first in game two, plating two runs in the third.  Back-to-back singles, compounded by a throwing error, put runners on the corners.  The Pioneers followed with two more, one out, singles to take the lead.

Whitewater got on the board with three in the fourth.  Krisch drove in one run with a single and Kiersten Tinkoff (Lake Barrington, IL/Barrington) brought in two more with another single to put UW-W in the lead.

The Warhawks got a little breathing room with a Krisch double to center, which was followed by a Seamon ball that was hit to center on which the Carroll fielders ran into each other, with Seamon ending up at third.  Seamon scored on a ground out to make it 5-2.

Carroll out-hit Whitewater 10-5.  Krisch went 2x3 with two runs scored and the RBI.  Bekka Houda (Lisle, IL/Lisle) went all seven innings for UW-W, did not walk a batter and struck out five to up her mark to 6-1.

Carroll, which had a nine game win streak coming in, is 10-4.

Whitewater, 13-1 with an eight game win streak, will open Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Thursday, hosting UW-Stevens Point at 3:00 at van Steenderen Field.  There is no admission fee and free parking is available in the Perkins Stadium lot.
