UW-W jumped out to a 10-1 lead after three and a half, scoring three runs in each of the second, third, and fourth innings.
Southern Maine retaliated with a run in the bottom of the fourth to make it 10-2 but UW-W tacked on three more in the top of the sixth to extend their lead to 13-2.
A Husky run in the bottom of the sixth and two more in the bottom of the seventh made it 13-5, but another three spot by the Warhawks in the top of the eighth gave them a 16-5 lead, a lead that held until the conclusion of the game.
The Warhawks recorded season highs in the game in at bats (42), runs scored (16), hits (19), and RBIs (13). UW-W also recorded four doubles and eight walks.
