Derek Scheible (Sheboygan/Sheboygan South),
Marcus Genrich (Janesville/Parker),
Austin Mrkvicka (Lockport, IL/Lockport), and Tony Heilberger each contributed to wins in two events in the UW-Whitewater men's swim team 118-76 win at Lawrence University in Appleton Saturday.
Scheible won the 200 individual medley in 2:08.32. Genrich touched first in the 1000 freestyle in 10:58.94. Mrkvicka took first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.02, and Heilberger won the 500 freestyle in 5:21.24.
Scheible and Genrich were teammates on Whitewater's winning 200 medley relay, which was timed in 1:43.78. Benjamin Wynn and
Jeff Kaletka (Mt. Horeb/Mt. Horeb) rounded out that quartet. Mrkvicka and Heilberger helped conclude the meet with a win, teaming up with
Sam Dellacecca (Brainerd, MN/Bemidji ) and Wynn for a 1:33.63 clocking in the 200 freestyle relay. Wynn, as part of both relays, also contributed to two wins.
UW-W also collected wins in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke.
Jake Shackelford (Wauwatosa/Wauwatosa East) won the 100 backstroke in 58.33, and
Jacob Chartrand (Racine/Park) touched out in the breaststroke in 1:06.80.
UW-W will compete in the Phoenix 1-2-3 hosted by UW-Green Bay Friday-Saturday, November 16-17. The next home meet for the Warhawks will be January 26 at 1:00 when UW-Eau Claire visits the Williams Center pool.
