Shauna Binsfeld (Cedarburg/Grafton) and Jessica Stang (Minnetonka, MN/Minnetonka) were named the UW-Whitewater women's softball players of the week. The softball team had just two games last week, beating UW-Platteville twice, 4-3 and 9-1. They upped their record to 24-6 overall and 9-3 in conference play.
 
In the first game against Platteville, Binsfield was 1 for 3 with an RBI and in game two, she was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk.

Stang picked up her 18th win of the season by throwing a complete game versus Platteville in game one. Stang threw 7 innings, struck out 11, walked one, and gave up no earned runs. She held the Pioneers to a .042 batting average.
