UW-W scored two goals in each half of a 4-1 victory over St. Thomas Saturday in Whitewater to improve to 6-4-0. UW-W has won their last six games after a 0-4 start to the season. The Tommies are now 3-3-0.

St. Thomas started the game outshooting the Warhawks 3-0 in the first 11 minutes.
Austin Saari (River Falls/River Falls) got off the first shot by a Warhawk at 11:35 and St. Thomas goalkeeper Jace Leiferman was forced to make the save. Leiferman was forced to make another save at 18:25, this time off of a shot by
Jonathon Fischer (Hartland/Arrowhead).
St. Thomas fired off two more shots in the 22nd minute, both of which Warhawk goalkeeper
Aaron Sesselmann (Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) had to step in and save. The teams went back and forth with shots, fouls, corners and substitutions, but it was Saari who finally broke through in the 41st minute scoring his first goal of the year on a pass from
Edward Horrocks (Milton Keynes, England/Ousedale).
Horrocks increased the Warhawk lead to 2-0 just under four minutes later with his first goal of the year,
Jared Denu (Waunakee/Waunakee) recorded the assist.
The second half started the same way the first half started, but this time UW-W fired off the first three shots. On the fourth shot of the half
Logan Fye (Rockford, IL/Winnebago) scored his fourth goal of the season in the 53rd minute to give UW-W a 3-0 lead.
The Tommies fired back with a goal in the 57th minute to tighten the score at 3-1, but the Tommies could do no more.
Kevin Kron (Willowbrook, IL/Benet Academy) scored an insurance goal, his sixth of the season, with seven and a half minutes remaining in the game off of a pass by Saari. Kron leads the Warhawks in scoring, goals and points, this season.
Aaron Sesselmann (Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) made four saves in the game and earned the victory to improve to 5-2-0. Sesselmann has a season save percentage of .711 and a goals against average of 1.59.
The Warhawks and Tommies combined to shoot the ball 35 times with St. Thomas edging the Warhawks in the category 18-17. Twenty fouls were scattered throughout the game with the Tommies earning 13.
During UW-W's six game winning streak they have outscored their opponents 17-3 and have given up no more than one goal in a game. By contrast, in their first four games, UW-W was outscored 3-11 and gave up a minimum of two goals each game.
UW-W will look to push their streak to seven when they travel to North Park on October 5 for a match beginning at 7:00 pm.
