The win over the College of Mount Saint Joseph upped Whitewater's streak to nine of its last ten matches without a loss (8-1-1).  Brandon Shuart (Davison, MI/Davison, MI) at 125, Cade Sarbacker (Mineral Point/Iowa-Grant) at 149, and Adam Zeh (Lombard, IL/Glenbard East) at 165 contributed six points each to the team total with pins.  Noneof the three extended into the third period, with Sarbacker pinning Joe Conrad of MSJ in twenty-six seconds.

The match with Harper pitted two nationally ranked teams.  Whitewater is twenty-sixth in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III poll and Harper is second in the National Junior College Athletic Association.  Jake Fredrickson (Woodstock, IL/Woodstock) pinned George Iliopolos at 2:25, and Alex Cizek (Naperville, IL/Nequa Valley) also contributed six points with a forfeit win for the Warhawks.  The difference in the match was three pins by Harper wrestlers.

UW-W is 11-11-1 in dual meets this season, a measure of the team's ongoing development since an 0-7 start.

In addition to the Border Brawl, a tournament was conducted for wrestlers not in the Border Brawl, allowing teams to bring more wrestlers to the competition.  UW-W's Keegan Arthur won the 149 flight "B" title, Alex Cizek (Naperville, IL/Nequa Valley) won at 157, and TJ Decker (Pewaukee/Pewaukee) won at 174.

Whitewater will compete in the Pete Willson Invitational Friday and Saturday, January 28-29, hosted by Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
