The Warhawk women's golf team finished third at the Georgianni Memorial UW-Eau Claire Invite on Sunday.  The two day event was played at Mill Run Golf Course (par 72) and Wild Ridge Golf Course (par 73).  The competition was the first of the season for UW-W.

The 'Hawks were in third after the first day of competition and maintained that positioning by one stroke after completing play on Sunday.  UW-Eau Claire Blue took top honors firing a two day total of 645.  Coming in second was Gustavus Adolphus (665), UW-W was third (688), and rounding out the top five were UW-Eau Claire Gold (689) and St. Olaf (696).

Mary Donohue (Endeavor/Portage) was the top finisher for UW-W firing an 82 on Saturday and an 85 on Sunday to finish in eleventh place, ten shots off the leader.  Alexa Campanile (Mount Prospect, IL/Prospect) finished seventeenth with rounds of 78 and 93 for a total of 171, while Melissa Ellis (Kenosha/Tremper) and Gianna Tenuta (Kenosha/Bradford) also finished in the top 30 of 114 competitors totaling 178 strokes each for the tournament.  Melanie Helgeson (St. Charles, IL/North) finished tied for 39th carding a 93 and an 87.

The team will travel to Oshkosh for a tournament at the Oshkosh Country Club on September 11 and 12.
