Senior shortstop Amanda LeBeau (Worth, IL/Richards) was perfect for Whitewater going 3x3 at the plate including two doubles, a homerun, three runs and two runs batted in. Junior firstbaseman Jordyn Gaza (Mundelein, IL/Carmel Catholic) and freshman Shauna Binsfeld (Cedarburg/Grafton) matched LeBeau's success each going 2x2. Senior outfielder Lauren Cruz (Des Plaines, IL/Maine West) added a stellar day in the batter's box recording three hits in four appearances. Junior first and second baseman Kate McDonnell (Aurora, IL/West Aurora) contributed another multi-hit performance tallying two hits in three at bats.
Freshman right-hander Katie Boyle (Greendale/Thomas More) picked up her first win of the season allowing three hits in four innings while fanning six Western Connecticut batters.
The pitchers for Allegheny stifled the Whitewater bats in the second game allowing just six hits, a third of what UW-W had in the first game. The Warhawks were the first to record a run with freshman Amanda Mertes (Des Plaines, IL/Elk Grove) scoring off of a LeBeau single. Allegheny would fire back with two runs of their own in the top of the second. UW-W tied it up in the fourth after a LeBeau tripled and scored on an error. Two scores in the top of the fifth put Allegheny up 4-2, a lead they kept the rest of the way.
LeBeau and Gaza combined for four of the Warhawks' six hits in the game each going 2x3 at the plate.
Senior pitcher Stacy Bahr (Racine/Park) gets the loss after recording six strikeouts, no walks and allowing just two hits in three innings of work.
