Warhawks Swim Past Lawrence University

The UW-Whitewater Warhawks men's swimming and diving team defeated the Vikings of Lawrence University 130-62 Saturday November 7th in the Williams Center pool.
The Warhawks were led by Matt Mintz (Hinsdale, IL/Central) (1650 freestyle, 17:46.03/500 freestyle, 5:08.25)and Andy Hanney (Grafton/Grafton) (400 IM, 4:29.03/200 backstroke, 1:57.76), both recording two individual victories.  Hanney also contributed to the 200 freestyle relay victory.
Also claiming individual victories were Bill Stenavich (Brookfield/Central) (200 freestyle, 1:51.81), Adam Altenburg (Watertown/Watertown) (50 freestyle, 23.04), Kevin Everson (Stoughton/Stoughton) (200 butterfly, 2:18.98), Kyle Stoermer (Ozark, MO/Nixa) (100 freestyle, 51.77), and Marcus Genrich (Janesville/Parker) (200 breaststroke, 2:24.73).  Cody Faga (Spring Green/River Valley) scored top marks in both the one and three meter dive competition.
The Warhawks travel to Luther College in Iowa for their next meet Saturday November 14th.  Their next home meet is January 16th at 1:00 pm when UW-Whitewater will host UW-Oshkosh and UW-Stevens Point.
