The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater broke five school records in a quadrangular meet hosted by Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas Friday night. Team scores were North Carolina State193.85, Texas Woman's University 193.5, Centenary College 190.35, UW-Whitewater 188.525. All three of Whitewater's opponents are scholarship schools.

UW-W's total score broke the previous mark of 187.625 set way back -- one week ago against UW-Eau Claire. The other school marks to fall included:
- Ashley George (East Dubuque, IL/East Dubuque) on the balance beam, 9.725, equaling the mark set January 31 by Danielle Doll (Ingleside, IL/Carmel Catholic)
- Justine Weyer (Colgate/Germantown) in the floor exercise, 9.75, tying the record set by April Hubmann February 9, 2002
- Team uneven bars, 46.025, topping the old mark of 46.00 set last season. The record setting quintet included Weyer, George, Danielle Crinzi (New Berlin/Eisenhower), Katie Cosentino (Elk Grove Village, IL/Conant), and Lauren Corrigan (Clarksville, TN/Clarksville).
- Team floor exercise, 48.275, erasing the previous record of 47.55 set last season. The record setting group included Leah Applin (Brooklyn Park, MN/Champlin Park), Crinzi, Katrin Finch (Boise, ID/Boise), George, and Weyer.
Whitewater's top individual places in the meet went to its all-arounders, George (38.275) and Weyer (38.225), who finished third and fourth, respectively. The duo also accounted for the Warhawks top finishes in the other events, with Weyer tied for seventh in the vault (9.725) and floor exercise (9.75), and tied for ninth on the uneven bars (9.6); and George tied for seventh (9.725) on the balance beam.
The Warhawks will come off the record-breaking evening into their biggest meet of the season, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship Friday, March 6 in Winona, Minnesota. The WIAC includes Winona State, Gustavus Adolphus College and Hamline University for the sport of gymnastics, and the conference meet is the west regional for the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association. Qualifiers from the season and regional, will advance to the NCGA championship March 20-21 at Hamline in Saint Paul.
