Three Warhawks have been selected to the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region Teams including
Josie Hammen (Combined Locks, Wis./Kimberly),
Kiarra Kostroski (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) and
Bella Eggert (Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North).
Hammen has been stellar in the circle for UW-Whitewater all season. The sophomore boasts a 17-2 record with four shutouts and three saves. Hammen tossed the first no-hitter in NCAA play in program history in the Warhawks' opening game of the Cleveland Regional last week. An All-WIAC selection this season, Hammen was selected to the All-Tournament Team at the completion of the regional.
Kostroski, a senior utility player that has been a staple at first base for UWW this season, earned her second All-Region honor this season. A three-time All-WIAC pick, Kostroski broke the Warhawks' single season record for walks and currently ranks second in the career record book with 78. She is ranked 17th in the nation in walks drawn per game this season.
Eggert, a junior outfielder, was also named to the All-WIAC squad this season. She leads UWW with a .398 batting average and paces the Warhawk offense with 53 hits this season. The speedster is also a perfect 10-10 for stolen bases.
The Warhawks claimed a NCAA Regional Title after going 3-0 at the Cleveland Regional last week. UW-Whitewater will head to Winona, Minnesota for Super Regional action against Saint Mary's (MN) beginning Thursday. The best-of-three series features the opening game at 2 PM Thursday.
