Box Score 1 Madison, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team split the opening games of the Midwest Invite in Madison. The Warhawks fell in a close 3-4 match against Grinnell, but took the second game of the day against Luther College with a 6-1 win.

In the first match against Grinnell, the Pioneers picked up the doubles point, sweeping the Warhawk doubles pairs. UWW split the single matches 3-3, but Grinnell had the edge with the doubles point.

Gracie Ha (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) picked up the win at #1 singles against the Pioneers. The senior dropped the first set 5-7, but bounced back to take the second set 6-2 & then the tiebreaker 10-7. 

Sarah Ferguson (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) also won her match in the third set tiebreaker. Ferguson lost the first set 4-6, but flipped the score for a 6-4 second set. Carrying the momentum forward, Ferguson took her match with a 10-6 super tiebreak.

Against Luther, the Warhawks swept the doubles flights to earn the point. The singles flights also were in favor of UWW, 5-1. 

Ha won her second match of the day against Luther with a quick 6-2, 6-0 straight set.

Alex Repplier (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) battled back in the third set tiebreak as well. The sophomore took the first set, but dropped the second 3-6. The momentum didn't shift over, with Repplier getting a 10-7 tiebreaker in the fourth singles flight against Luther.

The Warhawks will face the Hope College on Saturday morning in the 5th-place match.
