The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team opened their spring portion of the season with a dual against UW-Milwaukee in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
The Panthers took the doubles point after winning the second and third flight. At singles one,
Gracie Ha (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) and
Abigail Weaver (Wakarusa, Ind./Mishawaka Marian) were tied at 4-games a piece with the Panthers' top squad before the team doubles point was decided.
In the singles flights,
Abigail Weaver (Wakarusa, Ind./Mishawaka Marian) had a close first set, drawing it out to a set tiebreaker. UWM's Emilia Durska narrowly took the first set, winning the tiebreaker. Durska carried the momentum forward, taking the second set for the match.
Crystina Lee (Downers Grove, Ill./Timothy Christian) battled at six singles. After dropping the first set 6-4, Lee fought back to take set two 6-2 before falling in the third 10-2.
