The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's bowling team finished 12th in a field of 22 teams at the Flyer Classic hosted by Lewis University this weekend. 

UWW went 2-3 in five Baker matches Friday registering a total pinfall of 4,774 and averaging 191.0 per game. 

On Saturday, the Warhawks went 3-2 with a total pinfall of 4,609 over the course of five traditional team games. With a 5-5 record over the two-day span, UW-Whitewater registered a total pinfall of 9,383 - an average of 184.0 per game. Kelly Whipple (Sheboygan, Wis./South) led the way finishing 16th in a field of nearly 150 bowlers. She averaged 212 per game, bolstered by a phenomenal 299 in game three, with a total pinfall of 1,060. Zoey Darwin (Monona, Wis./Monona Grove) also bowled in all five matches for UWW Saturday registering a total pinfall of 889. Emily O'Byrn (Barrington, Ill./), Emily Rusk (Greenfield, Wis./), Kayla Devine (), Dani Swaisgood (Burbank, Calif./John Burroughs), Samantha Radig (Beaver Dam, Wis./) and Ashley Bowe (Brillion, Wis./) represented UW-Whitewater in at least one game Saturday. 

In the championship bracket on Sunday, UW-Whitewater topped Valparaiso and Tulane before falling to Stephen F. Austin in a battle for 11th. The Warhawks top Baker game on the day was a 247 registered in the final game against Tulane.

UWW will head to Jonesboro, Arkansas for the Mid-Winter Classic next weekend.
