Cassie Lee (Downers Grove, Ill./Timothy Christian) represented UW-Whitewater women's tennis in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional in St. Peter, Minnesota Sunday.
Lee opened the day with a comeback win over Carleton's Piper Brown in a quarterfinal matchup. Lee battled off two set points before dropping the opener 5-7. She responded in a big way taking set two 6-1 to even the match. Playing a full third set, Lee shutout Brown 6-0 to advance to the semifinals.
In the semifinal, Lee fell to Xingchen Liu of Carthage 6-2, 6-4.
For the tournament, Lee went 4-1 in singles competition.
UW-Whitewater was represented by seven Warhawks in addition to Lee in the ITA Midwest Regional singles bracket including

The Warhawks return to the courts Tuesday, September 24. UWW will host UW-Stevens Point at 3 p.m. at the Outdoor Tennis Complex in Whitewater.
