The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's bowling team finished seventh in a sectional of the Intercollegiate Team Championships in Smyrna, Tennessee over the weekend. The top four from each of four sectional locations advance to the championships. 

The Warhawks bowled 64 games in four blocks over the course of two days. After the first block of 16 games, UWW was tenth with a total pinfall of 2936. After adding 2973 in the second block, the Warhawks jumped into the eighth with a total of 5909. 

UW-Whitewater had a fantastic third block registering a total of 3067 in games 33 through 48. With a total pinfall of 8976, the Warhawks were in seventh heading into the final block of competition, less than 200 pins out of the top four cut. 

In the final block, UWW added 2782 to their total for a sectional pinfall of 11,758 to hold seventh.

Danielle Swaisgood led the Warhawks individually.  Her total of 1136 ranked 40th among the 150-bowler field. Rachel Nelson (Poplar Grove, Ill./Belvidere North) (1104), Samantha Radig (Beaver Dam, Wis./) (1097), Mackenzie Juedes (Menasha, Wis./Menasha) (1096), Zoey Darwin (Monona, Wis./Monona Grove) (1089), Kelly Whipple (Sheboygan, Wis./South) (1060) and Rebecca Howard (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) (1047) finished among the top 100. Emily O'Byrn (Barrington, Ill./) registered a total of 980 representing UWW in singles play. The top five bowlers, ranked by total pinfall, following a six-game series qualified for the Intercollegiate Singles Championship.
