The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's bowling team finished fifth in a twelve-team field at the Saints Invitational hosted by Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri over the weekend.
The Warhawks went 8-5 accumulating a total pinfall of 12,794 with an average of 185.4 per game in the tournament.Â
UW-Whitewater went into championship Sunday with the seventh seed in the bracket. The Warhawks took down sixth-seeded Oklahoma Christian in the seven-game series (149-178, 201-154, 164-191, 235-174, 188-226, 171-159, 216-170).Â
UWW advanced to defeat Alabama-Birmingham in seven games to move into fifth. The Warhawks dropped the first two games of the series 204-214 and 193-217 before evening the match with a pair of wins - 205-166, 209-177. UAB took the lead with a 232-178, but UWW responded with a pair of wins (179-149, 205-170) to seal the fifth-place finish.Â
