Four UW-Whitewater volleyball players have earned All-Region honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association while Head Coach
Stacy Boudreau was named the Region 8 Coach of the Year.
The four Warhawks have helped lead UW-Whitewater to a league tournament title and automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship. UWW is one of the best teams in Division III at the net this season. The Warhawks lead the nation in blocks per set (2.99) and are third in team total blocks (293.0). Offensively, UWW is fourth in hitting percentage (.291) and 14th in kills per set (13.62).
Outside hitter
Jenna Weinfurt (Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial) secured All-Region honors for the second consecutive season. The First Team pick this season ranks among the top 40 nationally in points per set (4.43).
Fellow outside
Alayna Jansky (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) was also a First Team selection this season. The graduate student is ranked 16th in Division III in both kills per set (4.22) and points per set (4.86). She is also ranked among the top 60 in hitting percentage (.329) and total kills (380).
Aubrie Krzus (Wheaton, Ill./Warrenville South), a First Team pick, is one of the top setters in the country ranked 13th in assists per set (10.38). The sophomore is also one of the top blockers, ranked among the top 100 of all players with 0.91 blocks per set). She adds a top 50 mark in total assists.
Abbie Dix (Brodhead, Wis./Brodhead) was recognized as an Honorable Mention selection this season. The sophomore middle hitter is ranked second in the nation in blocks per set (1.49), fourth in total blocks (137) and 31st in hitting percentage (.358).
This season, Coach Boudreau led UWW to its 19th WIAC Tournament title in program history and 9th under her leadership. The Warhawks are making their 18th appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament under Boudreau and 35th overall. UWW will open regional play against Ohio Wesleyan Thursday at 7 PM in Russell Arena.
