Warhawk Men, De La Cerda Selected to Compete in NCAA Championships

The UW-Whitewater men's cross country team has qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division III Championship set to be hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on November 23. In addition, Ari De La Cerda (Pewaukee, Wis./) will represent the Warhawk women at the championship. The women's race is set to begin at 10 AM CT at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terra Haute, Indiana Saturday. The men's race will follow at 11 AM CT. 

Thirty-two teams and 70 additional student-athlete were selected to participate in each championship. The top seven-person team from each of the 10 regions automatically qualified. Twenty-two additional teams were at-large selections. As the runner-up at the North Regional, the Warhawk men received an at-large bid and will compete as a team at the championship. 

The first seven runners from each region who are not part of a qualifying team were selected to participate in each championship. De La Cerda finished 13th at the North Regional to be selected as an individual participant at the championship.
