Colfax, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's cross country teams competed in the NCAA Division III North Regional Saturday. The Warhawk men finished fifth while the women were sixth.
A full list of 32 team qualifiers for both men and women along with individual qualifiers for the 2025 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship will be announced Sunday, November 16. The 2025 national meet is scheduled for November 22 in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
The men's race showed how dominant the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is in the region with eight league teams placing among the top ten in the 8k. The UWW men finished with a team total of 166 to claim fifth in the 31-team field.
Dan Anderson (Eau Claire, Wis./McDonell) led the way crossing the line eighth individually with a time of 24:49.
Alex Metko (Brillion, Wis./) recorded a time of 25:34 to finish 26th.
Tucker Johnson (Poynette, Wis./),
Brandon Massman (Belvidere, Ill./North) and
Keegan Bratt (Waukesha, Wis./West) secured top 50 individual finishes in the field of 214 runners. Johnson posted a time of 25:48 followed by Massman's 25:56 and Bratt rounded out the scoring five with a time of 26:01.
Matthew Andreano (Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) (26:11) and
Jonah Block (Whitefish Bay, Wis./) (26:40) also represented UW-Whitewater on the tough course at Whitetail Golf Course.
The women's 6k followed the men's race Saturday. Once again, the power of the WIAC was on display as five conference institutions finished among the top eight. The Warhawk women were sixth in the 30-team field with a team total of 265.
Payton Scoggin (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trails) was the first UWW runner to cross the finish line with a time of 23:07 to finish 33rd.
Abi Anderson (Janesville, Wis./Craig) added a top 50 finish in the field of over 200 runners with a time of 23:26.
Emma Henningfeld (East Troy, Wis./) posted a time of 23:39 to finish 54th followed by
Katie Erb's (Winnebago, Ill./) clocking of 23:41, just two places back.
Nicole Brown (Grayslake, Ill./) rounded out the scoring five for UW-Whitewater with a time of 24:08.
Also representing the Warhawk women Saturday were
Ella Hansen (Pewaukee, Wis./UW-Parkside) (24:24) and
Emma Skelton (Mt. Prospect, Ill./) (24:50).
